Before booking a harp duo or trio, here are a few things to know so you can make an informed decision and secure the musicians you want.

Harp Duo and Trio Investment
Because ensemble bookings include multiple professional musicians, the investment is higher than solo harp.
Duo music begins at $1,400 for the first hour.
Additional time may be added at $600 per hour or $300 per half hour.
Trio music begins at $2,100 for the first hour.
Additional time may be added at $900 per hour or $450 per half hour.
These rates reflect not only the performance time, but also preparation, coordination, professional experience, travel, setup, and the care required to bring live ensemble music to your event.

Why Ensemble Availability Matters
Additional musicians are accomplished professionals, including Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra musicians and established performers who regularly appear at weddings, concerts, hotels, and special events throughout the islands.
Because these musicians maintain active performance calendars, teaching schedules, student programs, and other engagements, availability can change quickly.
When possible, I may request a short 3-day courtesy hold with the additional musicians while your event details are reviewed.
Once your contract is sent, your booking fee is due within two weeks to secure your date and ensemble. If the booking fee is not received within that time, the date and musicians may be released for other engagements.
This is why timely booking is especially important for duo and trio requests.
Special Song Requests for Duos and Trios

If the song is not already part of the current repertoire, I am happy to consider learning it for your event.
A $100 song-learning fee applies per new song. For duo and trio bookings, this fee applies per musician, as each musician prepares a separate part.
Special song requests must be submitted 60–90 days prior to the event.
Requests require published sheet music or a suitable existing arrangement. Songs that require transcription from audio or video are outside the standard song-learning service.
All song learning depends on the availability of music and on whether the piece is well-suited for harp or ensemble.
Outdoor Weddings: Why Proper Shade Is Required
Outdoor weddings in Hawaiʻi can be beautiful, but live instruments need proper protection.
For outdoor performances, shade coverage is required for the harp and any additional musicians.
For solo harp, a large market umbrella or professional covered shade structure may be suitable when it provides full, stable coverage for the harp, musician, and equipment.
For duo and trio bookings, a 10 × 10 canopy or professional covered shade structure is required. Here are two rental companies that provide shade structures: Pacific Party Rentals and Accel Event Rentals.
Beach umbrellas or small decorative umbrellas are not sufficient. Tree shade is also not considered adequate coverage, as the sun moves throughout the event, and branches may drip sap, moisture, or debris.
The harp and ensemble instruments are professional concert instruments and must be protected from direct sunlight, heat, wind, rain, and shifting shade.
Many professional harps and string instruments are valued between $10,000 and $50,000+. Proper coverage helps protect the instruments, the musicians, and the quality of the music throughout your celebration.

A $350 non-refundable booking fee is due upon signing and is applied toward your total balance.
Your wedding date is secured with Harp Hawaii once the signed agreement and booking fee are received. The booking fee is not the full performance fee.
